January 2017 Hearing Aid Grant Winner
Deanna is a school bus driver, and is required to pass a DOT physical every other year. Deanna had been noticing a decline in her hearing for some time, and after a summer physical was told that she would be required to purchase hearing aids in order to keep her job. Deanna was given one year to acquire hearing aids, without the financial resources to do so. In danger of losing her job, Deanna reached out to family for help, and they nominated her for our grant program. In January 2017, Deanna was fitted with over-the-ear hearing aids at no cost, allowing her to pass her DOT hearing exam and keep her job. We would like to thank Deanna and her family for allowing us to contribute to her livelihood and her quality of life!
