Lyric Hearing Aids

Lyric Hearing Aids

Lyric HearingLyric is the hearing industrys only completely invisible, maintenance free, water-resistant, extended-wear hearing device. It sits deeply in the ear canal, millimeters from the eardrum, where it is invisible to the outside world. Because it sits close to the eardrum, Lyric is able to take advantage of natural sound cues that occur when sound is shaped by the outer ear and ear canal.

Most hearing aids sit on the outside of your ear, where the microphones are more sensitive to sounds from behind you than your natural ear is, and where wind can blow directly on the hearing aid microphone. A lot of processing power and battery life is spent trying to compensate for these natural disadvantages, and Lyric gets around these issues by picking up sound where your ear is meant to: deeply in the ear canal. Because it sits so close to the eardrum, sound also does not need to be turned up as much because it doesn’t have to travel as far, saving battery life. It is little ingenuities like these that allow Lyric devices to go for three months on a battery where other devices need a new battery about once a week.

Lyric is made out of hypoallergenic foam, which conforms to the contours of your ear canal, and comes in five different sizes. It is inserted by your audiologist, and needs to be replaced four or five times a year at a fifteen minute appointment. Between these quick appointments, you live as if you didn’t have a hearing loss. Lyric is the only hearing device that is meant to be worn while you sleep, exercise, work in the yard, and shower. It offers a convenience and versatility that can’t be beat, and a sound quality that is very natural and clear. Lyric also offers a two week test drive so that you can make sure it’s right for you before you sign up.
